The AGC/VT Leadership Academy is designed to address one of the industry’s most pressing needs: Developing strong leaders who can guide teams, manage complex projects, and help sustain Vermont’s construction workforce. Beginning with a pilot series of virtual sessions followed by in-person programming this fall, the Leadership Academy will feature a mix of instructor-led learning, guest speakers, and hands-on group activities that reflect real-world construction challenges. The Leadership Academy will provide a comprehensive training experience combining technical construction knowledge and essential leadership skills, with sessions focused on project leadership, team development, financial fundamentals, and mentorship.
Week 3. Team Creation, Development, and Management
This session focuses on building strong teams by understanding personalities, setting clear goals, and aligning individual strengths with team needs. Participants will learn practical ways to improve communication, support development, and manage performance. The emphasis is on creating a team environment that drives consistency, trust, and results.
