The AGC/VT Leadership Academy is designed to address one of the industry’s most pressing needs: Developing strong leaders who can guide teams, manage complex projects, and help sustain Vermont’s construction workforce. Beginning with a pilot series of virtual sessions followed by in-person programming this fall, the Leadership Academy will feature a mix of instructor-led learning, guest speakers, and hands-on group activities that reflect real-world construction challenges. The Leadership Academy will provide a comprehensive training experience combining technical construction knowledge and essential leadership skills, with sessions focused on project leadership, team development, financial fundamentals, and mentorship.

Week 4. Building and Mentoring the Next Generation
This session explores how leaders develop future talent through mentorship, trust, and intentional teaching. Participants will discuss the difference between doing the work and teaching the work, and how both contribute to growth. The goal is to help leaders build confidence, share knowledge, and strengthen the workforce pipeline.
