The AGC/VT Leadership Academy is designed to address one of the industry’s most pressing needs: Developing strong leaders who can guide teams, manage complex projects, and help sustain Vermont’s construction workforce. Beginning with a pilot series of virtual sessions followed by in-person programming this fall, the Leadership Academy will feature a mix of instructor-led learning, guest speakers, and hands-on group activities that reflect real-world construction challenges. The Leadership Academy will provide a comprehensive training experience combining technical construction knowledge and essential leadership skills, with sessions focused on project leadership, team development, financial fundamentals, and mentorship.
Week 2. Leadership Strategies that DON’T Work – 28 July 2026
This session will help identify leadership strategies that create blocking forces within the team or group. Recognizing and reducing dysfunctional tendencies can help streamline jobs and teamwork. When developing leaders, it is as important to know what to sidestep as it is to know what to aim for!
