BGS Institutional Maintenance Mechanic

Buildings & General Service at the State of Vermont has an exciting and unique opportunity with room for growth as a BGS Institutional Mechanic within the Operations & Management Division.


This position will be responsible for the daily maintenance at Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility (CRCF) in South Burlington, as well as participate in a larger team that performs these duties at other state facilities within the greater Burlington area. Travel between these facilities may be required and will utilize a state owned and or a privately owned vehicle. A valid driver’s license and multiple background checks are required for this position.

Requirements

State licensure at or above the journeyman level in any trade area.

OR

Completion of a vocational/technical training program in building or construction trades, mechanical repair, industrial arts, or related field AND two (2) years or more of experience in building construction, structural maintenance, or building repair and maintenance.

OR

Three (3) years or more of experience in building construction, structural maintenance, or building repair and maintenance.
