Construction Safety Manager
The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing Bread Loaf’s health and safety policies and procedures. This includes performing safety audits, conducting safety training, and creating initiatives to prevent accidents and injuries on our job sites.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Administer Bread Loaf’s Health and Safety Program.
- Provide assistance and guidance to project and department managers to ensure compliance with all safety procedures and policies.
- Review existing policies and procedures on an ongoing basis to ensure they are up to date.
- Develop, coordinate, and implement all required safety training and education. Oversee third party trainers as required.
- Perform Risk Assessments of all Bread Loaf job site. Implement standard Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Task Hazard Analysis procedures for self-performed work.
- Perform periodic jobsite inspections to verify compliance with VOSHA and Bread Loaf policies. Prepare written reports and take corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate all Project WorkSAFE inspections.
- Thoroughly investigate all accidents and injuries. Ensure that appropriate responses and corrective actions are taken. Ensure that all injuries are properly documented and initiate claims with insurance company as needed, coordinate with Director of Human Resources.
- Review all safety documentation/reports for accuracy and completeness; ensure all required documents are forwarded to federal and state agencies per regulations and to company insurance carrier per their requirements.
- Develop safety budget and assure expenditures do not exceed the budget.
- Visit job sites regularly. Travel 60%

Requirements |
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- OSHA 30
- BS in Safety Management or relevant field is desired
- Thorough understanding and ability to enforce all federal, state, and company regulations.
- Ability to investigate and objectively analyze critical situations.
- Outstanding oral and written skills.
- Proven ability to develop credibility, influence, and trusting relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to tactfully coach, mentor and correct unsafe behavior.
- Attention to detail and focus on quality.
- Strong commitment to safety.
- Must be able to walk-through and oversee active construction sites.
