Safety and Education
Each winter and spring, AGC/VT presents a wide variety of safety and training courses to contractors throughout the state. These classes regularly include First Aid, CPR, OSHA 10-Hour Training, MSHA, etc. At our quarterly meetings, AGC/VT periodically sponsors seminars on current industry topics in addition to the meeting's traditional evening dinner and speaking program.

A follow up to this weeks crane mishaps
Just a quick note to all, In the past week, There were two serious crane mis-haps. One involved what Ill reference as a bad lift and the other as driver error. Luckily no one was seriously injured. It has been made clear to me that both VOSHA and DMV are going to increase their presence around cranes over the next 60 days.
What we have heard from them is if they see a boom, they are stopping. You should have at minmum Lift plan Training docs Inspect Docs Permits And have your operators ready for the inspection. RJW
